Pastor’s Biography

Rev. Johnny D. McClellan, Sr. has served as Pastor of Mission of Faith Baptist Church, since June 2015.  He is the son of Rev. John and Sis. Reola McClellan.  He matriculated in Business Administration at Chicago State University and completed his Biblical Studies through New Thought Development Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Since he united with the Mission of Faith Family in September 2011, he served faithfully on the Ministerial Staff, was the Director of Christian Education, provided fiduciary oversight to the Finance Department, worked with the Homeless/Challenged Ministry, Prison Ministry, numerous committees, within the church and the community, just to name a few of his many assignments.

The Lord called him to serve in ministry at the age of thirty, but he wrestled for twenty-four years.  Since then, he has sought the Lord’s Will for his life in all that he does.  His desire is to do outreach ministry to bring those who feel untouchable unto the Lord.  His favorite scripture, Psalm 51:10 reminds him that we all fall as David did, but God is the one who can renew the right spirit in us and we should never look down on anyone unless we are picking them up to help or encourage them.

He is a proud father of five children and nineteen grandchildren.  He is married to the former Lorri McClinton.

The Almighty Father has blessed Mission of Faith with a man truly after God’s own heart.
